Our Volunteers

From everyone at Wolston Park Golf Club, we extend our sincere and heartfelt thanks to each and every volunteer.

The volunteers of Wolston Park Golf Club are the foundation upon which our club continues to grow, thrive, and serve the community. Their service is given freely, yet its value is immeasurable. Week after week, these dedicated individuals contribute their time, energy, and expertise to ensure that the club remains welcoming, well maintained, and enjoyable for all members and guests. From course maintenance and clubhouse support to event coordination and administrative assistance, their efforts are woven into every aspect of club life.

Volunteering requires commitment, and at Wolston Park Golf Club that commitment is consistently demonstrated with professionalism and pride. Many of our volunteers dedicate countless hours behind the scenes, often without recognition, simply because they care deeply about the club and the community it represents. Their work enhances not only the playing conditions on the course but also the camaraderie and spirit that define our club culture. It is their willingness to step forward, lend a hand, and take initiative that strengthens our operations and reinforces the values we stand for.

The true character of our volunteers was most evident during the Queensland Flood on 2nd March 2022. In the face of significant disruption and uncertainty, our volunteers responded with remarkable resilience and determination. They worked tirelessly to assess damage, clear debris, assist with recovery efforts, and support fellow members during an incredibly challenging time. Their swift action and cooperative spirit played a vital role in helping the club recover and move forward. What could have been a prolonged setback was instead met with unity and resolve, thanks to their extraordinary efforts.

Moments such as these highlight that volunteering is not simply about routine tasks; it is about leadership, responsibility, and community spirit. The response to the floods demonstrated not only practical support but also compassion and solidarity. Our volunteers showed that they are not only caretakers of the course but guardians of the club’s future.

On behalf of everyone at Wolston Park Golf Club, we extend our sincere and heartfelt thanks to each and every volunteer. Your dedication does not go unnoticed. Your service strengthens our club, inspires our members, and ensures that we continue to move forward together. We are deeply grateful for your ongoing support and proud to acknowledge the exceptional contribution you make to our community.

Adopt A Hole

By volunteering your efforts to maintain golf holes, it will not only benefit the golf course but also fosters a sense of community and camaraderie among our members. This is a new and wonderful initiative that you can be part of to maintain a hole and make our course look even more pleasant.
By volunteering your services for golf hole repairs, we can achieve the following:

  1. A well-maintained golf hole will improve the golfing experience. Your volunteer efforts will enhance the course playability and aesthetics, making the game more enjoyable for everyone.

  1. This is your golf course. By volunteering, you contribute directly to the maintenance and improvement of the golf course you love. You can take pride in the upkeep knowing that you “did that”.

  1. We will organise golf volunteer Days where volunteers can come together to repair golf holes as a team. We will collaborate with the golf course superintendent to ensure proper tools and materials are available for the volunteer projects.

  1. We will recognise all the efforts and offer incentives to members that participate. You will be able to follow your progress on our web page and social pages. Your efforts will create a positive feeling and encourage more golfers to participate.

  1. We will provide training on the correct way to repair pitch marks, rake the bunkers and repair fairway divots. We wish to equip volunteers with the right skills and techniques to repair golf holes. We will offer workshops on special projects we agree is beneficial for the course.

  1. We will make volunteering a social and enjoyable experience. Refreshments will be provided on Volunteer Days. It will be an opportunity to share stories, and forge connections with fellow golfers who share a passion for the sport.

  1. Your efforts will be recognised and acknowledged. We will feature your names or photos on a volunteer wall at the golf course, mention them in newsletters, or hold an annual appreciation event. Recognizing your contributions goes a long way in fostering a culture of volunteerism.

  1. We will share stories of successful repairs and improvements made by volunteers. Highlighting your impact will inspire other golfers to join in and contribute to the cause.
